I suspect Grealish will go to United who will outpay other bidders for an English player.

I'm assuming that their top targets will be Maddison and Sancho, and that Maddison will not be available and Sancho will choose to go somewhere else. So it's possible that an early move for Grealish might be successful while United are distracted.

We're not especially good at early moves though...

I think Maddison will go this summer, and then Leicester will replace him with Buendia for a fraction of the fee. And then they'll sell Buendia for another Maddison-like fee two years from now.

There's a way to stay ahead of that curve...

Ever since Klaus name checked Buendia, I started to notice him in matches and MOTD also focused on him in a few matches. Certainly looks the part.

I think Maddison's too smart to go to United anyway, but I don't see why they would sign him when they've just spent a potential £80m on Bruno Fernandes.

Chelsea possibly. They seem big on English players right now, and there's a logic to it considering Brexit's inevitable impact on Premier League.

Not sure I'd see him as a good partner for Kante TBH.

Me neither, but there are rumours that Chelsea are looking to ship Kanté after he's been subpar for some time now. I think they will restructure their midfield next season. He'll no doubt fetch them a decent fee from some Spanish or Italian club.

The biggest area we need to address this summer is the midfield as far as I am concerned. Assuming we get rid of Xhaka, all we have there is Torreira, Guendouzi and Willock, only 1 of whom is even close to being a starter. Need some good signings in that area of the pitch - say Szoboszlai, Partey and a high quality dribbler (Aouar?).

Surely Szoboszlai would just be more future potential? There'd still be an argument for bringing him in if he has more potential than the young players we've already got, but as a starter it feels like the sort of decision that could wreck us for the foreseeable future. We need a big mean readymade player.

Maybe, but why would Maddison push for a move to Chelsea? He's playing with better players and under a better mamager at Leicester.

Torreira and Xhaka out, and that big, mean ready-made player you speak of in, along with Szoboszlai.

Yeah, we have limited funds and we need to focus on bringing in ready made players now.

This season we have actually exposed how lacking our creativity is going forward. We need at least one proper attacking mid.

Nkunku at Leipzig.
Thuram at Gladbach.
Rashica at Werder Bremen.
And Benrhama at Brentford, who we're linked with today, looks interesting.

I like Philips at Leeds. He's a local boy and the pride of Elland Road, but if they fail to get promotion this season maybe he'd be up for a move?
