Very talented playmaker. Good dribbler, makes incisive runs with ball and has a good eye for the pass too.

However, its pretty much the first time in his career where he is consistently putting it all together.

If he keeps producing like his has done it so far this season, I don't think Schalke can hold on to him for much longer.

Incredible dribbler - was on my wishlist even when he was at Nantes. Struggled last season and wasn't helped by the fact that Schalke's 3-5-2 was a car crash that led to Tedesco's sacking, but has made a step up under Wagner. Used to only want to play centrally earlier - has now learnt to play a roaming role off the left wing as well. Good combination player, but somewhat untypical in that he plays a little deeper and gets involved defensively as well - which led to him not putting up great numbers till last season. He's probably a little like Iwobi, but a much silkier version thereof.

So does he require a specific formation (position) to succeed? or would he be capable as a LWF here?

I watched Schalke last weekend, wasn't impressed with Harit. Decision making very flawed and prefers dribbling to dead ends rather than pass. If he was better on the counter they would have won easily, had so many chances to make it 2 or 3 nil but conceded a last minute corner.

Nothing is easy to teach at the highest level. Nothing beats a more natural understanding of the game.

That isn't what he's saying at all though. He's saying that a natural understanding of the game beats whatever understanding we can teach him at 22, I don't know how you guys get physical and technical skill involved here.

Looking like Bayern will sell Thomas Muller in January as he is agitating due to lack of playing time.

Hypothetically, if he was available for a cut price deal, would anybody on this board be in favour of signing him ?

Uh no, I'm talking about Coombs. I got all that from him telling you that the tactical side isn't easy to teach and that it doesn't beat having a natural understanding. I don't know where you an Anzac get technical skills involved from Coombs' post.

I was replying to Clrnc who was talking about Harit but Coombes decided to reply to my post as if I had made it in isolation.
Recognizing that he was on a wind-up, I replied with a, similarly, ridiculous extreme and he answered in the same way I could've answered him.
I say this as it's clearly much easier to teach Harit the tactical side of the game than to waste time on an unskilled 22-year-old. However great his understanding of the game is, guaranteed he is getting kicked out of every top academy, bribery and nepotism notwithstanding.

He wasn't on the wind-up, he disagreed that it should be easy to teach him understanding of the game. It's clearly easier, yes, but then nobody talked about unskilled players before you mentioned it.

Oh, so you either thought he meant literally anything or you're that guy. I see.

Coombs you're wrong, actually being able to drible with the ball at 100 km/h beats natural understanding of the game as well.
