I've always felt he's similar to Quaresma in that sense. Neither of them have the faintest clue that football is a team sport or that you need to show up for 40+ games each season. Talent-wise they could both have gone as far as they wanted. Mentally they're just half a notch above Ravel Morrison.

Yeah I want more proven players, less quantity more quality ala Liverpool style. I know there are many other positions we need help but we can tackle the main ones first.

Out: Cech (Free), Mustafi (15m), Jenkinson (2m), Elneny (10m), Welbeck (Free), Ramsey (Free), Lichsteiner (Free), Ospina (3m), Asano (2m)
Total: 30m-35m

In: Skriniar (50m), Ndombele (50m), Neres/Bergwijn (30m), Fraser (15m)

If we can ship Ozil which is very unlikely given his non value now, get Havertz. Right backs and left backs are for spare cash, our current options can probably still do a job if we strengthen our main spine.

Even taking into account sales, can't see us spending that much, unless Kroenke is jealous of FSG.

I think 100-150m is not unthinkable. We have spent as much over the past few windows under Wenger anyway and we are supposed to have more this window as the cycle restarts

That was the math - 70M for Upamecano, 25M for Mancini, 25M for Wesley and 10M for Aaron’s.

Where are you guys seeing the Upamecano valuation? It feels outrageous. He hasn't even made the national team. I know he has a 90m pound release clause, but that shouldn't determine the price. 70m would be a massive multiple on the 10m transfer fee paid just 2 years ago. What did he do in the last 2 years to change his growth trajectory so significantly?

I always thought he was the most talented in that French youth team that included him, Nasri and Benzema. Not only an amazing dribbler but he has the vision and ability to pull off quality passes

I'd get De Ligt for 60-70m, think he's gonna be one of the best CBs in the world for the next 10-15 years. Akin to Atletico spending huge sums on the then teenage Aguero

Leipzig have one of the best defences in Europe, easily the best in Germany at the moment with a similar amount of goals conceded as Liverpool. Upamecano is their best defender, he has already around 100 matches of top flight experience and is still just 20 despite a lengthy injury layoff. I'm not saying I'd pay 80m for him but Leipzig would be dumb to let him leave for a lot less in this market.

Yeah based on pure talent he is way ahead of the rest other than Diaby. I still remember his solo run which almost resulted in a goal few years ago that led to his PSG move, complete unreal tekkers.
