Goretzka ~~and Ghoulam~~ would be good, realistic pickups from that lot. Maybe Chiellini too as a short-term solution to our centreback issue? I think there's still two-three seasons left in the tank for him.

Edit: Never mind, I just remembered that Ghoulam did his ACL the other week. Who knows what he'll look like a year from now when he's back on the pitch.

The Daily Heil have an article saying we want to sign Goretzka on a free. They then ruin things somewhat by saying Man City and Juve also want him. I'm not providing a link to the article. I feel bad enough that I clicked on it myself.

Have my doubts about Weigl. Looked incredibly average against Spurs. Still young though.

Fabinho and Monaco have shat the bed in Europe this season. It might be a good time to try and nab him in the Summer.

Sign him now. They really have nothing to play for at home and in Europe. I would go in with a big offer this December. I’m also still naively hopeful that we can impress Ozil and Sanchez and encourage them to stay if we bring in decent players this January - as long as we act before PSG, Bayern and Barca. As long as we stay within striking distance of United, and we show ambition in the window, then we can legitimately say to these guys that we offer as good a home as any in England. The wild card is then Barca for Ozil and Bayern/PSG for Sanchez.

Had a difficult start but is seriously tearing it up, albeit the Ukranian league. Still, most of Shakthar's brazilian imports often do well when they move to a top club.
