i'd be thrilled if we got benzema and griezmann, but would prefer to sell giroud over podolski. might be some bad vibes with benzema blocking him for club and country, and honestly, giroud isn't really a threat to score from the bench. i'd rather keep the goal threat.

Benzema only has a year left, right?

I don't think Giroud will be a good bench player either, but I don't get Wenger's comment that we can't have him and Benzema in the same squad. The fact that they are competing for the same spot in the national team hasn't stopped him from keeping both Szczesny and Fabianski in the past.

The problem with Benzema is there should be a market for him. If we assume Cavani is in play next summer, that means the 2nd tier would be Benzema and Costa. All the following could be competing for the striker:

Arsenal
United [they love a fwd]
Chelsea
PSG
Spurs

Just that group of bidders could really push up the price regardless of the 1 year left on his contract

Cavani isn't in play. On huge money and at a club who won't give a fuck if he wants out or not. Benzema and Manzukic won't be on the move either imo. We've probably got to hope both Diego Costa and Balotelli are available because Chelsea will likely buy one so we'll need the other.

People keep saying there will be lots of top strikers on the move this summer but they said the same last year. Wouldn't surprise me if we made the same mistakes as last year and spent the summer trying to get Cavani and just end up with nothing at the end.

Why wouldn't Mandzukic be on the move? Think he will definitely want out.

Benzema won't be on the move, he will sign a new contract soon unless Ancelotti surprisingly wants a new striker. Diego Costa is Chelsea bound, Balotelli will stay at Milan. Can't see any other big strikers moving.

I hope to God that Costa isn't Chelsea bound. It's a sickening thought, as he's all they're missing.

is suarez re-signing with liverpool or is he going to madrid? if he goes to madrid, i think that increases the chance that benzema will be available. however, liverpool will then also be in the market for a striker, and will have massive suarez money to spend.

He has already re-signed with Liverpool. One would assume there is a proper release clause in his contract this time.

Because he's currently first choice at Bayern Munich. And usually when at a club like that you fight it out for a season or 2 before leaving unless you're a pussy like Ozil. Mandzukic looks like a fighter.

Mandzukic is not enough of a physical upgrade (in terms of speed) or technical upgrade to Giroud. Get Griezmann for the left and then play Podolski/Walcott up front with Chambo on the right and Ozil in the hole. Turn the game into a track competition and run teams out of the stadium.

Good chance Falcoa and Balotelli will be available too. Plenty of forwards to go round.
