Agreed, Higuain might be the better goal scorer but Benzema's all round game is far superior. Higuain doesn't even come close in that regard. These days being a striker is much more than being a good finisher. As Bayern Munich showed when they got rid of the better goal scorer in Gomez and replaced him with a better all round player in Mandzukic.

Comparing Benzema to Higuain is like comparing Vidal to Schniederlin, of course one is better but if they're not available then go for the alternative.

I too prefer Benzema to Higuain, but at their time together at Madrid, not even their many managers could decide on one over the other for any prolonged time. Isn't THAT much between them IMO.

Lets not forget that we actually bid for Higuain, so its a possibility that we might go back for him. I wouldnt mind him, i just think that Benzema is pretty much the perfect signing for our style.

Higuain actually improved on his overall game contrary to popular opinions, but his finishing was pretty poor in the few times I saw him.

He was the single biggest reason Napoli got knocked out by Dnipro in the semis last season. He had probably 10 or so 1v1 and shot at the keeper everytime.

He usually gets picked with Sanchez or Walcott.

If we're selling Santi we better be signing more than just 2 new players. Get another defensive mid plus Benzema and Gotze and you are talking about a title challenge.
