Top wish would be for Real Madrid to tap up Agüero and get him to push through a transfer, while we sign Benzema. Then add Cech and Schneiderlin and call it a day.

Why would we get Benzema? City would need a starting striker, and if Benzema was available they'd outbid/outwage us.

You do of course realize that it was you yourself who suggested that the weak mentality claim was only because of the penalty miss, and then made the comparison with Özil, of which you laughed? You basically made up something you could laugh at.

Given that he's not a particularly poor scorer in big games it's a plausible conclusion that the weak mentality claim is made against the missed penalties. Yes people can compare one missed penalty in a big game with another player missing a penalty in a big game.

Missed in a lot of big games for R.Madrid and Argentina incl a guilt edge chance in the World Cup final. Even when we were linked to him there was a lot of talk about him mentally not being up for it in the big games. Don't know if it is true though....

Ozil is not known to be a big game player either to be fair.

I remember him scoring an offside goal in the final. Don't remember a miss.

His record at Napoli in 2 seasons-

Lazio- 9 goals
Roma- 2 goals
Inter Milan- 2 goals
Juventus- 2 goals
Fiorentina- 1 goal

These are the 5 other teams bar Napoli which have performed the best in last 2 years and he's scored against all of them.

He scored against all 3 teams in the group stages of the Cl in 2013-14 which were Arsenal, Dortmund and Marseille.

He scored against Bilbao in the Cl playoffs this season.

I don't buy the bottler theory either but i don't think he's significantly better than Giroud to justify spending the money it will take to sign him especially as there are no guarantees he adapts to PL football. That said if we signed him i would be excited.

I didn't question whether you made the post or not. If you think it's plausible to assume that any sane poster on here says that a player has a weak mentality based on a single penalty miss, fair enough.

Here's the issue. I didn't say a single penalty miss. I said missed penalties. That doesn't mean one penalty. It's means multiple penalties. It's regarding his record of scoring penalties recently (5 in 9 missed). Of course if you bothered to read or managed to check the facts in your hurry to make witty posts then you would have known these things and not dreamt up imaginary scenarios.

houseboat metro rumor that we triggered vietto's 14m release clause, along with liverpool, but that he'd chose us over them. which is a no brainer.

i think he'd be a fantastic signing if we cant get a legit world class established striker. which i dont think we can, since none are available
