For the right price Jackson Martinez looks like a good, pragmatic signing to me. We'd all love an Aguero or the next Aguero but I just don't see one around at the moment.

His release clause is supposedly only 25m = he's likely to be the cheapest proven goal scoring CF available anywhere near top class. That doesn't mean to say that I think he's an 'inferior' option based upon price.
I don't think he's much better than Giroud tbh.
Watched a lot about Martinez this season. I think he would be a very interesting buy. He is quite different from Giroud contrary to people's perceptions here.
The only downside is his age.
I'd be worried about him stepping up a couple of levels at his age.
