I watch the Bundesliga every weekend and I wouldn't say that Kramer is a more complete player. He's a more gung-ho attack minded version of someone like Khedira or Ramsey but without the end product, and certainly not as apt defensively as Schneiderlin. He's a talented player alright but I'd steer well clear anyways, when asked about his return to Leverkusen prior to his extension he said that he'll only return if he feels like it despite his contract running for two more years, very dodgy character especially for someone who's achieved fuck all in his career.

Spot on. It looked last summer like Schneideelins value might be inflated after a great season but this season he's peoven to be even more important to Soton. He's worth £25m to us given our needs.

Talking about Sociedad, it's being reported in a few places that Arteta has agreed a free transfer back to his old club to work with his old manager, David Moyes.

Don't really see enough of Swansea to know how good he Ki is, looks decent whenever I do see him though.

I think he's pretty outstanding. One of the best players currently outside the top four in England. You wouldn't start him at Arsenal but his brain belongs here. There are a lot of similarities with Arteta.

Buy him as backup and buy a new starter? Isn't it better to just buy a starter? Coquelin is more than good enough as backup.

Ki won't want to be a backup. Not to mention we do not need quantity, we need quality. Very little chance of buying 2 midfielders anyway.

I'd put all my resources in to buy Schneiderlin. I am convinced by what I saw of him in these 2 seasons. I'd help greatly if we want to play 4-2-3-1 and we have Coquelin and Schneiderlin as our base. They'd win any midfield battle and our attacking players can have more freedom to play. I think players like Pogba, Verratti, Martinez, Busquets, Gundogan is pretty unattainable for now so he would be my first choice.

With Schneiderlin, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Cazorla as CM options we would have quantity and quality. Then add another marquee player in attack or goalie and call it a day.

We're going to need a number of players in the summer. Need to replace both Arteta and Flamini numbers wise, for instance.

Coquelin has effectively replaced Flamini.

Whether Arteta leaves or not remains to be seen anyway.

Koke, Reus and Marquinhos. Would sort out or midfield, left wing and central midfield. Would provide us with more movement and passing ability.

We needed another guy when the season started. Coquelin just turned out to be that player in the end. If we lose two midfielders in the summer we can't replace them with one. That's the kind of squad management that got us into the dire situation we found ourselves in this season.

It doesn't make sense to have too many midfielders though. How do you keep Wilshere and Ramsey happy if we have Coquelin, Schneiderlin and Ki?

I'd rather sign a top winger and move Ox into the middle if we need extra numbers there.

When Wilshere gets fit and plays regularly for an extended period we'll review the situation. Maybe some of those guys will choose to leave. It's not the worst problem in the world to have. Like I said, we always leave our numbers down to the bare minimum and we suffer from it.

I'm surprised you want such an average player, Klaus. Especially after you've been saying that our squad is in pretty bad shape. Ki may be a good player for Swansea, but playing for Arsenal is completely different, and much more demanding. Comparing him with Arteta isn't doing him any justice, as the Spaniard was one hell of a player for Everton before his injury.

We have to look outside England, and replace players with quality, not squaddies with squaddies. That's what we've doing, and we're not improving at all.
