We look alright defensively in numbers now; 4 fullbacks and 4 CBs. That is what I think a squad should have. Now it remains to be seen whether Gabriel is good enough, how Chambers develops, and if Monreal and Gibbs can continue to spur each other on.

Left wing and a central midfielder are the positions where I really feel we can strengthen. Of course I'd want a top class center forward, but I have just about given up on that.

That top class centre forward seems to be getting harder and harder to find. Not many would've turned down Falcoa as an upgrade on Giroud but he's looked like absolute shit this season.

Alexis has played LW for so much of the season, why do people keep asking for an LW? We aint gonna bench both Theo and Ox. One of them will be a starter on the right (Theo ofc).

We need 4 wing players IMO, and we only have 3 in Walcott, Chambo and Walcott. I don't ever want to see Özil or Cazorla on the flank unless we are in the midst of a massive winger injury crisis.

We have Welbeck, Gnabry, Ozil, Wilshere, Cazorla all who can play wide too.

I'd get a defensive mid, centre half, a full back on either side and striker before I'd go for a left winger.

IMO Gnabry should go on loan for the whole of next season along with Akpom. They are not ready, yet, to really be a part of our first team the way I see it. See where they are in pre-season for the 2016-17 campaign.

As for the other blokes, neither of them are good enough to play an the wing for us. Sure, they can 'do a job', but I really, really think we should aim higher than that.

Dont see us going for any more world class attackers or defenders over the summer. Would be a good summer to ship out Diaby + Flamini, bring in a world class (deep-lying/defensive) midfielder and sort out GK by shipping out Szczesny. Would sort out of most suspect positions in the team atm and not require ages to gel next season. We're actually a lot closer to having a really good team than many people give us credit for.

BTW there's talk of Reus renewing at Dortmund, which would only be a formality to remove his buyout claus of course, so you can instantly rule us out of the race if that happens.

I beg to differ on these guys. We need to buy a couple of world class players this summer to bolster the starting line-up. Then I would get rid of the fat that is sitting ahead of Gnabry/Akpom (Podolski, etc), and use those boys off the bench and against lower placed opposition and in Carling Cup. If you go into a game with 10 established stars, you can afford to put in a Gnabry. He'll learn more from playing with Ozil and Sanchez than he will from having to adapt to some Championship hacks who like to get stuck in

In a way that's a good thing, we can shift focus on the teams dire needs, rather than what would have been a steal at 20m.

He seems like a good man. Even if he goes he makes sure Dortmund get more money for him. Let's see what Walcott does in a similar position now (and I mean this in the least cynical way possible).

Also probably cost himself a good 50,000 pounds a week in salary if he's gotten rid of the 20m clause.

He signed a new deal with Dortmund without a release clause, yes. It means nothing in itself; he'll just leave for more money now.

If he wants to stay at Dortmund, no sweat. If he's looking to leave in near future, then he transferred value from himself to Dortmund. He better be a childhood fan or investor in that case.
