Don't think so. I think he signed a new contract and bought a Bugatti using the signing bonus 😆.

My wishlist: Laporte, Schniderlin, Shaqiri/Draxler.

Arteta and Flamini are grim prospects right now and he looks like he's ready to take the next step

Real are always looking for shiny and new so I could easily see Benz being let go, especially for the right price.

They'd need to pick up Cavani or someone of that caliber first I reckon.
My wish right now would be Arturo Vidal, Marco Reus and Mats Hummels. I'd settle for Morgan Schneiderlin, Julian Draxler and Winston Reid though.

I'm not pushed on Draxler and even Reus wouldn't be as good as before his injuries. Anyway left wing is less of an issue as striker.

I think AW will 'enquire' regarding some key targets like Schneiderlin etc but I'd be surprised if we saw a top flight player in Jan unless via some release clause or potential free agent in the summer.
I think AW will then look to his options and player valuations as per normal.

CB - Reid / van Dijk - I don't think we'll see Reid if WHam want much more than 10m, let alone the 15m+ talked of;
CMD - Scheiderlin/Cabaye as DLPs, Krychowiak/Illaramendi/Bender as DM types - all seem around the 20-30m range;
don't think we'll see Kheira for under 15m, which could see Romulo as a good alternative to provide height etc
WF - Pedro / Giovinco

There are also a number of French players we have been 'linked' to at various times who are potential free agents in the summer and may be available at reduced fees in Jan -
CF - Gignac
AM - Gourcuff
WF - Ayew
CMD - Chantome

I think this transfer window could also be crucial regarding Ozil's future.
If we buy starting types like Pedro/Ayew we could see Sanchez move to #10 and interchange with the likes of Pedro/Ayew/Walcott/Ox at WF. A fluid front 4 of Welbeck, Pedro, Sanchez, Ayew would be tempting re pace on the ball, dribbling, work rate and cover.
Likewise Gourcuff could also replace Ozil/Cazorla as the ball player/playmaker in a reduced role/capability.

Can Monreal be a good enough 4th CB that we actually target a LB instead? Seems easier to sign a CB though.

I would settle for

Reid, Schneiderlin and Reus (Both probably in the summer).

We are not signing another striker or offensive player in January. Especially not Benzema, he is playing well and signed an extension. We tried for him last summer, failed and settled for Welbeck.
There is nothing to decide regarding Özils future.
We may see a stop gap CB come in at best, dont think Reid is an option as he is on a free next summer.
We will find replacements for Arteta/Flamini and Cazorla/Podolski in the summer. One of each will go and the other is relegated down the pecking order.
