What if no upgrade to Giroud is available or is depending on other deals (like Bale <-> Özil or Suarez <-> Sanchez)

It's a lot more likely that we're not willing to spend the kind of money it takes to sign a top tier centreforward. Whatever the case is I'll bet you everything I have that we won't sign one after splashing big on Sanchez.

I think a clarification of "we" is required incase some extra-territorials happen to stumble upon this thread.
We, supporters, would all have splurged the lot on Cavani two years ago but the other we, (Wenger), is much more cautious. He is also much more successful than us, as he is handsomely paid to do a job he loves

Don't think thats the case. We could easily have signed a decent CF for 30 mill. Morata, manzukic, Balotelli etc But if we don't sign 'any' CF after Sanchez it would definitely be a strange one.

i would rather spend my money big on Khedira and Sanchez than go after forwards who cost a lot but are a marginal improvement on Giroud. if it's not Cavani/Falcao type talk, then we shouldn't be talking

one signing that could interest me though would be Klose. old man can come off the bench and do a job for us
