Surprised you say that about their speed, Sanchez looks really explosive to me, Reus less so. Saw Sanchez years ago for Udinese when I didn't have a clue who he was and thought "jeez, that bloke is fast!". Sanchez looks more hit and miss, like opportunities sort of present themselves because of his speed and close control, whereas Reus looks a genuinely smart and creative player.

I think Sanchez is the one who likes doing things at the speed of light too. He's fearsome when he gets the space he needs to tear opponents apart. Reus is the more complete footballer in my opinion. Outstanding vision and technique. There's a dimension of Bergkamp in there perhaps. Can't think of many better all-rounders in modern football.

If, hypothetically, both were available to us, you'd take Reus ahead of Sanchez in our team for the start of next season then, Klaus?

ive seen alot more of reus. he is more of a high octane risk taker that aims to take the shortest route to goal, but can be be frustrating when up against a banked defense. in terms of what our team lacks right now, reus is the obvious choice for me. and im a big fan of alexis, who has the awareness of a playmaker with finishing power. my opinion - sanchez needs to be a focal point to get the maximum from him, dominating the front line with plenty of touches ala suarez. reus can play a more effective complementary with guys like ozil and ramsey.

ultimately id be delighted if we got either

Hmmm...contrasting views. I just don't get the playmaker vibe with Sanchez, definitely looks more of a power player to me. Reus looks the more cultured. Will have to try and see a bit more of Reus. Such a shame he's not at the World Cup. Looking forward to more viewings of Sanchez in Chile's big games to come.

Didn't see that at the time. I'm guessing it was a similar performance to the ones he put in against us a couple of times this season? I wasn't overly impressed by him then, but hard to judge over a couple of games. He does a lot of very impressive things for Dortmund and it's in big games, against good teams. Really impressed me in the knockout game against Real Madrid where he got a couple of goals, for example.

he hasnt been able to show that side of his game in barcas rigid system. he has a superb creative side and it usually shines through for chile, like it did at udinese. if you look at his stat pack he's usually getting as many assists as goals

Yes. Özil already plays in the only space where I've seen Sanchez put in world class performances. Reus looks like the puzzle piece that would elevate the team to a new level.

I think Gazza M is 100% spot on on his assessment of Reus and Sanchez.

I was thinking just last night that we should make drastic changes to our attack (hate it) and go for Balotelli, Sanchez AND Reus. Get the 1st 2 and it wont be that difficult to convince Reus to join (especially with Ozil already on board). Don't care if there is no money left to strengthen other areas, pick up a back up keeper on a free and cheap RB (5-7m). I'd live with Arteta for another year if we bring those players in.

With that attack, Ramsey doesn't have to play ahead of the ball most of the time, I don't want him to morph into another end product midfielder like Gerrard or Lampard. He should focus on becoming a midfield general ala Vieira or Mathaus. Same applies to Wilshere. Don't care if they never scored another goal in their career.

Sanchez and Reus are very capable defensively, they'd never leave us exposed on the wings. I reckon we could even afford to play Wilshere and Ramsey (both in a disciplined CM role) against most teams in the league.

For me that team has got it all; height, pace, creativity, goals, defensive capability etc

I think we should really go for it this summer, the momentum is with us; we signed Ozil for record fees last summer, won the FA cup, Ramsey's becoming a household name in world football, new commercial deals in place..,.we are going places. Now is the time to take advantage of all that positivity. If we have another lousy summer and finish the season fighting for 4th you'd have a lot of negativity around the club again.

If we're going for reus might as well save some pennies and get Griezmann who looks a better player but even then podolski is better so why bother

It's unrealistic to think we'll get those 3, we just about spent money at the last second last summer. Granted thinks have changed but no way we start splashing cash like that.

Agree with your point about Ramsey though. I've seen lots of people say we need to make him the main man and get signings that don't play in his space etc but as far as I'm concerned the less reliant we are on him the better. At times last season he was the one expected to build play and then get on the end of moves. The more he can concentrate on dominating midfield the better. He might even benefit from running less each game....helps us keep our shape better and might mean he won't be run into the ground.

We would be lucky to get one of Reus or Sanchez let alone both. Really can't be choosing, both are great players that we need.

I would rather take both and not sign a CF actually.

I'm not saying I expect us to start spending that big, I'm saying we should. The money is there, FA cup trophy to build on, a lot of positivity around the club (imagine how upbeat we'll be if we sign players of that calibre!) etc

I disagree. Remember what Barca did having had their 1st good season in donkey years? They went out and bought the likes of Deco, Eto'o, Guily etc Those were the rising stars of European football.

It's uncommon for top clubs to do it because it's highly unlikely they are ever in a position where they need so many forwards, but I don't think it's undo-able if the money is there. Alexis and Balo are available for less than 30m each, Reus would be much more difficult to sign though.
