I really think Marchisio could do a stellar job replacing Arteta. He has deputised for Pirlo a couple of times this season and has done it very well. He seems better suited to that position than, say, Pogba, who's more of a Vidal type.

Marchisio could be a good shot. Had a really poor season, so he could be available for a reasonable fee.

Marchisio isn't what we need in terms of style or quality. Quite an annoying player actually, so many games drift by without him influencing them at all.

the sudden alexis surge is suprising. alot of people were writing him off after his first season at bartha. always felt he was top quality.

anyway, i'd take reus over him.

Would fit much better in our play. Also if we get someone like Balo for the CF position, I don't we would be able to accommodate someone like Sanchez..

TBH I wouldn't want either because both are right sided wide players, who can play out on the left. I would want someone who is comfortable on the left like Di Maria.

Reus plays most of his football on the left. Probably his best position.

We might. £70m in commercial revenue increases, £17m from Vela/Cesc sales - we got money to burn. We have extended a lot of contracts but I figure TV money increases take care of that. Give Wenger and the board this summer. If they fail or don't do enough then we'll see that money changes nothing, but until then...

I can imagine that there'd be some other costs involved but we've let go off about 400-500k of wages in the last 12 months so that should more than account for the wage increases at least. The other costs such as a sign-on maybe not but then you have to realise we spent about 40m less than what we had last summer too

For those that watch them regularly, What does Reus do better than Sanchez and vice-versa? Seems to me with limited viewing, that Sanchez is pretty obviously the more direct and incisive player, more goal theat, but Reus is the smarter player, more aware of what's going on around him, better passing?

Nope I'd say reus has more pace and running power but Sanchez is a far cuter player with better appreciation of what's going on around him and who can feed in others better
