We never really change how we play. In certain games Wenger tries to influence proceedings by choosing more defensively clued up wingers, play Arteta with Flamini, and he tells his FBs to be a bit more cautious when going forward - that is pretty much it. It is NEVER like he even contemplates adapting the formation to hurt opponents where they are weak.
Martinez correctly identified that we want to attack through the middle, don't really threaten too much in behind, and are vulnerable on the flanks because our FBs get so high up the pitch. Playing whatshisname as a 'false 9' or whatever and have him help pack the middle when defending was brilliant. Lukaku starting on the flank and deliberately leave him in the massive hole behind Monreal was also brilliant.
Martinez easily outmaneuvered Wenger with a team where at most 4 players would get into our team yesterday. It's embarrassing!
