The squad is good I think even with a net spend of 0m Wenger can build a squad capable of being great. But obviously any team like that will have serious weaknessess. And issues with depth. Which we have had. Even this season pre Chelsea sky showed stats of net transfer spend ours was 40m, chelseas was 800m. There's still gulf in quality despite buying ozil that is to be expected.
What we need to see this season is Wenger using the money to plug the holes in the squad that need plugging.
You get 2 kinds of managers.
One one side you have Benitez who if he needs a left winger will buy one even if they will never be good enough. Typical fan.
On the other side you have Ferguson & Wenger who will wedge a youth player in for a season and search the globe for a player of the required quality.
Wenger was obvioulys more cautious but he needed to be given the resources available.
I don't doubt the fact he'll build a great team. He would have one now if we had the wage bill of Chelsea or city.
Wenger has spent a fair amount on defence recently andwe bid for Jones and smalling and ginter recently. So I think be will find a better balance this summer.
