I have no idea what you are doing Biggus, I honestly don't. The only 'spend' that matters is net spend, which you should be very well aware of. You can name as many Chamakhs and Squillacis as you want, and all clubs have them, but in the end Wenger has done well in relation to what he has actually spent.

He might have done well in relation to what his net spend was financially, (and that's still debatable) but that's not worth a fig if he hasn't done well footballisticlly.
For a club with the means and expectations (at least from the fans) such as Arsenal- No he hasn't done well the past 9 years.

It is not debatable whether we have done well in relation to our net spend; it is a fact. For the rest, I am pretty sure my lengthier post just recently in this thread answers how I think about it.

Personally think we should of spent more but think the manager only wanted to dip in for exceptional talents rather than for the sake of things. We did put in big money bids for Gotze & Hazard.

Also I remember the Swiss ramble (I think) saying we need to keep £50m cash reserve, I can't remember the exact reasons behind that.

Aargh, Jazz. Every club around us in the league has bigger debt than us. Except Liverpool who will take on similar debt shortly to finance their own ground.

Wenger has been abysmal in transfer business these past 5 or 6 years. he has generally made a profit while we sit on stacks of cash. If he had dipped into reserves these last 2 or 3 transfer windows, maybe we would have had enough to mount a legitimate challenge. For now, we remain a nearly team.

The fact is while Wenger fiddled, Liverpool created a frontline of Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling, and have since made an astute addition in Rickie Lambert - to give them depth ahead of the Champs League challenge. Our front line remains a shambles to be frank, with Sanogo as our option to save us in FA Cup final.

I just watched one of my clients get fired for presiding over 18 months of mediocrity. Wenger deserved the same end, to be frank

Liverpool has done absolutely fuck all. Sick of people using them as a stick to beat Wenger with. If Wenger has been better than anyone at anything at all it's those deluded tossers and their scummy club.

In the eyes of the board and Kroenke Wenger's is a big success.
Doesn't matter what is here defined as mediocrity.
They've had his new contract drawn up all season, that tells me he was the one that had the doubts.
The fact that he only signed once we'd won the cup indicates, to me anyway, that he'd set his own criteria for this season whilst his employers were happy to accept CL as his measure.

You can laud Pool having Sturridge up front all you want but nobody thought much of the signing back when they made it.
Also Raheem came up through their youth.

Pool have shown there's a certain amount of luck with signings. I don't think our have to be stellar. Where we have shown to be lacking is depth, like not having a backup for Giroud, and an ability to keep players fit- something we've only recently acknowledged. We kept hiding behind luck and that medical centre as an excuse.

I still don't think Sturridge is all that. Good player no doubt. Not the type I'd want to start for Arsenal though.

I think he's as dangerous as they come. Beast physically with decent skill and a good finish.

Sterling was singed a few years ago from QPR and he was already a big thing. One of the ex-Arsenal coaches who now is at Brentford said that they we were very interested but Pool offered him a very good package.

I agree. He's been lucky to have Suarez over shadow him at Liverpool and the obsession with Rooney still at International level. He'd certainly be more highly rated on this forum if he was foreign and had scored goals previously for some poor German side instead of Bolton.
