Guy looks every bit as talented as Cesc Fabregas was. The vision and execution of passes in pre-season was astounding. 30k will turn out to be a bargain, and I fully expect he will be offered a bumper deal before he is 20.
I don't know if it's true but it's a bit excessive. Looking good against some asian sides is nothing exceptional. Though on the other hand Januzaj signed a 60k a week deal after 2 good appearances.
Only a 3 year contract? Bit short at that price.
I must be missing something ... he looked like ME with the ball last time I saw him. Why all the fuss? I think he looks kinda wishy washy.
Then again I know next to nothing about young boys Your Honour.

Agree. When someone as young as him gives an impression of having a lot of time on the ball, he is not just any talent. I think he will be fast tracked into the first team.

To be fair he was being raved about long before that, I'm sure it's what Wenger see's everyday in training and everything else that would justify such a wage in his mind, not pre-season.
We're obviously not giving him a contract based on what he did in preseason. He's being secured for the future because the coaches have had two years to evaluate his talent.
I just said that Klaus, keep up.
No wonder Tony doesn't like Scandos!

Sorry. I was going to delete your post but then I remembered that I'm not a moderator.
Other than the token Aussie (for appareances ofc), you have to be a jobless irish drunk to be a mod around here. That's what Tony tells me anyway.
It's always about the Irish with Tony. He's a bit predictable that way.
Zelelem, unlike Fabregas, will have real physical prowess on the pitch once he grows up.
Future holding mid?

How so?
can't wait for this guy to start playing for us regularly
Fabregas is slow as fuck and weak physically. He excels despite those flaws due to his superior brain. Zelalem is a well built boy who looks to become rather powerful once he fills out.
Rex wrote: Anyone can see that Zelelem is a special talent. Awarding him with 30k a week is different frg Nicklas fucking Bendtner 52k a week. Having this kid on 30k per week will seem like an absolute bargain when he is 19. I have no doubts whatsoever about that.

That's all good and well with hindsight but let's not forget Denilson was expected to be a top player as well. Then we're stuck trying to shift them when they don't deliver.
This guy, for all his potential, has proven nothing other then our collective, unfailing ability to hype up a youngster before he's even made the slightest impact.

Fabs had a fantastic engine though, never stopped running and was very committed when challenging for the ball.
e: Hmmm, Zelalem is 6'1" and still growing, didn't realise he was that tall. Very exciting.
Zelalem has a fantastic engine too, if reports are correct.
Don, we have these people, coaches they are called, who see this kid every day. They probably know more about just how good he is than any of us, and they seem to rate him.
