Shrek carrying all that extra weight probably won't last more than 60 minutes though in the jungle where you guys will be playing. Having Barkley coming in then to run at tired defenders isn't the worst thing one can imagine.
Do you think Gibbs will make the squad?

Gibbs hmm touch n go. Cole will probably go although he shouldn't. I'd be tempted with Shaw over both though

Agree. No use taking Cole. Gibbs or Shaw with Baines make more sense. Or even Danny Rose.

The emergence of Chamberlain, Johnson and Sterling recently meant Townsend/Morrison shouldn't be on the plane, considering Barkley is also very likely to go.

Weak through the middle. Wide open right flank. I think you've got to start Carrick for England. Him and Gerrard deep. Wilshere and Rooney ahead with one of their nippy wingers then, probably Sterling, maybe Ox if his form keeps up. Or you could play Sturridge wide, Rooney up top, Jack at 10 and a nippy winger.

Nah just go at them. We've nothing to lose and no great pressure on us for once. It's why we'll be so dangerous.

This is something like what was so unconvincing last time around. Too many plodders and old men, very little width, and people like Cole and Heskey coming off the bench.

but yeah, Carrick should probably be there ahead of Wilshere for balance.

No disrespect to Wilshere, but he'd probably be the least threatening player in that front six going forward on present form.

Does need another positionally solid player in there, otherwise it'll be as leaky as we've looked with Arteta and Wilshere at times of late.

Wilshere might be the least dangerous but you can't have an attacking 6 who take so many risks. Teams need balance and I'd have Wilshere in an England midfield every time, they just don't have anyone else as comfortable with the ball in midfield. Plus if theres movement in front of him he'll unlock a defence. He's been as creative as anyone in our midfield since Christmas.
