Easier for them to justify selling for less to us when he is going abroad.

They will miss him a lot so will need to get a good replacement in, I'm guessing Man Utd have better targets in mind but thought he would do a very good job for them.

Stock has risen but his contract had 6 months less on it. And he's going to go in the summer one way or another. Newcastle have little left to fight for this season so it makes very little difference to them.

His notable goalscoring record in Europe where he has scored 12 include-

2 against Sheriff
1 against Standard liege
1 against Bordeaux

2 against us ( 1 had a defence which included Squillaci, Meade and Jenkinson)

Truly remarkable

In the league for Olympiakos he has a less than 1 goal per 2 games and considering it is a pretty poor league (worse than the dutch) it's not really great is it. 41 league goals in 86 games.

Kevin Mirallas the last decent player to come from there had a much better record at 34 in 52 and he has a 10 in 49 here
