Also (and more importantly) financial fair play rules will be/are in place on both a Premier League and European level, we have greater year-to-year revenue than they do and we have more cash in the bank. I'd be shocked if Chelsea spent more money than us over the next 5 years.

Chelsea have loads of old players on big wages who will be off the books though. Likes of Cech (and they already have the best GK in Europe under contract as ready made replacement), Cole, Terry, Lampard, Essien, etc could all be let go soon and all of those are on over 85k per week.
