I think Berbatov would be a decent Jan signing, he's a bit languid, maybe not as driven a player as I'd wish for, but he's gifted and could score some key goals.
I cannot see Wenger buying a big name this month but we need cover - Berbatov'd do.

Have to say I'm very torn on Berbatov. The talent is there, and I think some players could learn from him, but I don't see how his style of play would fit.

Another player that will want to be on the ball, and we'd be down to just Theo as "a runner". Not sure his hold up play would compare to Giroud either.

His hold up play is definitely better than Giroud's. Problem with Berbatov is the tempo he plays at and he doesn't really adapt to those around him, everything has to be exactly how he likes it. He never played well with Ronaldo/Tevez and only looked good for United in the one season where he was the main #9 because Rooney came back from the WC in horrible shape and then asked for a transfer. SAF didn't even bother having him in the squad for the CL Final.

I cannot adequately describe in words how much I don't want us to sign Berbatov. Definitely not the type of striker we need to improve the first squad and probably not even the sort we need for backup. I would probably even prefer we stuck with Bendtner as back up than sign Berbatoss.

This is technically a "predictions" thread, stocking fillers is the new wish list and the other one's a "rumours and innuendo" thread.

Fucked if it's possible for people to stay on topic though. 🙂
