What do you predict?
How many and what calibre of player(s) will we get? N how much net dosh will we spend?
Not after what you want to happen but what's your gut telling ya?

My gut says we will "try" for a big name, but we will fail and end up with Berbatov.
Doomed, we are.
My gut feeling is that Wenger has no intention of signing a striker of note in January.
At the moment I don't have any strong instincts regarding any other signings he might make because he only ever gets asked about strikers.
I think it will be easier to get a big name now we have ozil, Ramsey has stepped up into the top bracket , giroud is a France international and our defense is rated. The problem before was that nobody wanted to waste there career carrying an average team. Now were seemingly competitive things should be a lot easier.
Ozil was very clear he had been made promises about transfers. Don't think well keep him happy if we continue to f about in the transfer windows.
We'll bring in a striker but I think we might take a punt on someone cheap and less obvious. Trying to get a top striker will probably end in failure and wasting the window.
If we get a striker it'll be a loan, someone young, someone old, someone marginalised or someone unknown.
A right back wouldn't surprise me, otherwise SFA seems the leading contender.
he is going to get a lesser known striker - someone from Portugal or Greece who can be effective.
Wenger is not dumb. he knows Giroud is holding Ozil back, and Wenger will need to spend more if he is to get value for money on the 42m he spunked on Ozil
An average, generic striker that's better than Bendtner on loan until the summer.
We won't sign anyone.
Hearing Wenger speak I get the same feeling. To me that's unacceptable.
We should start by not offering him a new contract. If he does his best, again, to leave us short of a serious chance at silverware, then there is no way in hell he should get a new contract.
Yeah, then fuck the club over for a few years. No thanks, Wenger needs to be signing regardless. We can't upgrade on Wenger.
Yes, we can!
I think it's important too that Wenger stays. We still need to make some signings though.
If Wenger is to sign a new contract it's got to be just a one year extension. Then if he can deliver a major trophy within this season or next then offer a longer term contract.
He's not signing a one year contract. 3 years minimum. I'd sign him up for 5.
The most pressing need being a striker, my gut says AW won't do anything in January....I think he may gamble on relying on Bendtner, Sanago, Theo, Podo...
What I would like to see is an on loan striker brought in, like a Berbatov, then spend the $$$ during the summer for a world class striker or one near that status that AW can bring along....
Dzeko would be a great buy, but can't see Man city selling to a title rival.
Only January signing will be Wenger.
Fulham are going to be a relegation scrap, why would they loan us their best player?
And captain, not to forget!
Wenger spent the whole summer looking exclusively for "super quality." I see no reason why he would suddenly change course and sign some half-measure of a striker on a permanent deal. We'll either sign a superstar, get some stopgap on loan or do nothing, in reverse order of likelihood.
Put in a 20m bid for Rossi.
Your gut instinct is that we'll bid £20m for Rossi?
Yep
Oops, didn't read the opening post of the thread

Someone old someone new someone borrowed someone blue?
Feel like we wont get anyone at all.

Really hope not, because we will win nothing with Giroud leading the line.
Its not a slight on him, but even Remy would be an improvement. We need to use Ozil to the fullest and thats only to get a striker who runs in behind defences.
Giroud is a perfect 2nd choice striker. I like him a lot but he just isn't good enough to be our first choice.

Theo Walcott...
Wouldn't be surprised if we splashed out for Benteke. Don't know if he'll ever be a consistent 20+ striker though.

Alone in the middle with 2 defenders on him won't work. Thought he did well yesterday when Giroud was occupying the defenders mind and he slipped through from the sides.
Look at his second goal, and when Bendtner played him in; that was CF movement as opposed to wing forward movement.
Just thinking the last 2 strikers weve bid for are Suarez and Costa. That has to be a good sign both went up a gear straight after. Wenger is finding them we just need to seal the deal on the next one he finds.
We bid for Costa?
We won't sign anyone for the first team in January i'd guess.
From memory he had a very good season with Falcao then Wenger was saying nice things about him when he was on the bench there and Falcao was starting. There was tons of reports we bid £10M while he wasn't starting then Falcao was about to move and he was never going to be let go and the whole thing fizzled out without being confirmed.
i think we will sign sanabria and benteke
The press reported that we were interested in Adrian Lopez initially, but judging from Wenger it sounds like it was Costa all the time.
Can't see us getting in anyone that'll be good enough for us to be a legit challenger come May.
With how well Suarez is playing it's not entirely out the question that we'll be pulled back into the scrap for 4th place.
