Yes at the time, but two years on and whenever Henry's loan comes up it's always that goal that was brought up. The late winner vs Sunderland was unreal. His last PL match and that goal started a brilliant run of form for the club in the league.

The Sunderland goal was more Arshavin than Henry. Leeds was unreal, epitome of a typical Henry goal for us

I just know that he's a fan favourite at Madrid. It sounds highly unlikely that we'll take a 20 year old striker who rarely scores on loan though, unless there's an option to buy.

I think it's kinda like with Zaha at United. Benzema doesn't do much these days, so it's easy to like the guy who isn't given the chance.

I'd agree with what Tim said. I tried watching a few videos and to me he looked nothing special... And he looked more of a 'technical forward' than a goalscorer/striker

Hasn't he got a fixed release clause? Or does that really not apply during January as I seem to recall reading somewhere?

If the player doesn't want to join then activating his release clause is kind of pointless. From what the journalists think he might be open to joining us but not likely in January.

Based on nothing, (you tube), he looks like Benzema-light minus the pace to run behind.
If this is the case, he is more a back-up to Giroud than anything else.
If Costa is available, i wish Wenger would just spend the cash on him.

I think Benzema has been very good for Real after a poor first couple of weeks.

I think we have to be realistic that most top players won't move in January, especially in a World Cup year unless they are doing badly. Either get a decent loan player in or take a small punt on someone like Pato (if available cheap) or someone more experienced and hope for the best.

Nope. He's fantastic, one of the reason's Ronaldo and Bale score as much as they do. Fantastic playmaking striker.
