i'm already over it. this has happened too many times, in exactly the same way, for me to be surprised anymore. in recent years, we've brought in sagna, vermaelen, squillaci, koscielny, and fabianski to replace eboue, senderos, gallas, toure and almunia and it still makes no difference. we introduce song as a physical DM to replace denilson, but now we give him license to go forward. denilson, who constantly falls down and fails to track midfield runners, is re-installed as the DM.
it's not the players, there's a problem upstairs with the attitude towards defending (apparently, it's just this annoying thing we have to do when we don't have the ball) and the way defending is approached. i don't see anything changing unless we bring in fresh ideas at management level, and my expectations for this team will not change until that happens.
