  • Arsenal v/s Tottenham Hotspur, Saturday 20th November, 12:45

Wilshere's twitter (yeah, it's been a slow day today!):

Hopefully my injury is not too serious. Would love to be fit for Saturday against Spurs.

Gutted to be leaving the squad but for the best let's hope I can recover in time for saturday! Good luck to the boys tomorrow!

does anyone actually know what he's injured?

edit - heard its a charley horse (dead leg)..

To be completely honest, it's been hard to feel up for this one over the last few days. School term is nearing its apex, and I really haven't had time to obsess over football for the last few weeks. But i've been thinking about this one today, especially about the fact that memories are so short. Seven months ago seems like a long time, but it was the lowest i've felt as an arsenal supporter in a long while. That Brum result was horror, but this was the icing on the cake. Watching spurs fans celebrate that rose goal was like watching 35,000 people witness the birth of their first child.

Add to the fact that the wankfest is in full throttle over van der vart, bale, their champions league campaign, etc., and I think it's fair to say that we'll never hear the end of it if we lose this one. You'll start reading articles like "SPURS HAVE FINALLY REACHED TOP FOUR QUALITY" and "DOES GARRETH BALE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE ERA?" Spurs fans across London, the UK, and the internet will designate November 20th as a memorial holiday.

I could go on, but I would love nothing more than to stuff these twats.

I think we're gonna smash them on Saturday. No explanation, just a very strong feeling.

Same, just feel strangely confident.

I won't have a gut feeling about the game until Saturday morning, probably not 'til i sink a can on the train down.

However, there really is nothing worse than the thought of losing to the scum. Thank the lord we don't actually experience it too often, but last time round was horrid, as Andy said. If the boys are motivated however, then we really should run riot. Shame it comes on the back of an Int' break, but that might actually work in our favour a bit. Twitcher will have less time to prepare his team. They've got a couple of injuries up the spine of their team, and they're defending horribly at the moment.

i hope Nasri dances rings around Gallas.. it would be so cool to see Sami make Gallas look stupid and then score a goal.. (would be good for any of our players to do that, but given Sami's history with Billy No-Mates, it would be particularly fun)

Oh, so Nasri has Marseille DNA? 😉

Samir will be well up for this one, so him destroying Gallas(or any other yid he comes across) seems very likely.

Game time feeling is different, it's always full of nerves and fear, at least in games like this.

Often find my nerves swing one way or the other on the morning. At the moment, I'm shitting bricks.

Nanananananananaaaaaaa Sammy Nas-a-ri! Nas-a-ri! Saaaaammmmmmmy Nas-a-ri!

Id be lying if I said I weren't tempted by Rocket before the game on Sat for a bit of atmosphere.

Given the injuries and minutes played for the internationals I'd go with

Fabianski

Sagna
Djourou
Squillaci
Clichy

Song
Denilson
Fabregas

Theo
Chamakh
Nasri

That'd leave us with a very strong bench of Shava, RVP, Wilshere, Kos, Eboue, Sczezny and Gibbs.

Djourou is in good form, but Kos done superbly against Spuds last time out so, hard to say. Would definitely start Shava over Theo as well and maybe Wilshere over Denilson

That's the team I'd pick. But I reckon Arsene will go with Kos and Squillaci. I said that on my Mania blog today and called an idiot cos according to this poor illiterate, Kos is still suspended! Grrr.

Arshavin played the full 90 last night and had not even returned when Wenger briefed the media this afternoon.

He will make for a good substitute.

I'd feel a bit more confident if we were away, we suck at the Emirates.

@ Rohit, Gallas is a coward and a pussy and a big mouth.
He'll probably go off injured or not show up.
I wish they'd led with that instead of having to wade through through piles of Nasris DNA.

RvP wanted VdV here
Fair enough but Spurs a TOP team? :o
They're no more a "top team" than we are........

I suppose at least we know sprs and their fans will be absolutely cacking it, but I always hate the build up to this one, just far too much mouthing off and whinding up. It's great to gloat afterwards, but the feeling of losing this is worse for us, spds are used to it.

In all honesty, we should win this based on our forwards, midfield and their defence. I'm hoping they choke quickly like they normally do, but if they get lucky and nick one before us it's game on. Hoping that VDV has his first real bad match, because it's due....and that Galen has an off day. and Modric. They are obviously the stand out players, the rest are fairly average.

Nervous, but fairly confident.

i'd stick with djourou rather koscielny. he's been looking better with a run of games, while the kos has been consistently inconsistent.

I wish the game was tonight. I woke up thinking about it and my stomach's doing flip flops already!
