I thought £30+ million was a ridiculous transfer fee for someone like him at the time, but I have to admit I was wrong. The market is well and truly fucked. You don't get a top class player for that kind of money anymore. And you won't get a Higuain either next summer. You get a bloody Benteke if you're lucky.
I'm still not fussed by higuain. Wanted him at first but he wouldn't be my ideal fit.

35m for Martinez is about right in this market. Strikers are expensive. If Martinez is the difference between 1st and 2nd this year, then it would be a minuscule price to pay

Benteke is a donkey.
Martinez clause is about 28-30m I think. Can't argue against his record. Similar to Falcao's at Porto.
I'd consider Ben Arfa as a short term replacement for Walcott.
I doubt Newcastle would loan him to us for 6 months though
He really has the same issues he had years back. Far too selfish and poor decision making. He could have laid the ball on a plate against us after jinking past flamini and went for a solo effort.
