If we buy Cahill I would feel sorry for Miquel and Bartley because there goes any chances of them making it here despite being quite decent defenders. We need to offload Squid and Djourou though.

I actually think Wenger wanted Cahill instead of Merte simply because he wanted someone with Premierleague experience. Whether Merte is a better signing now don't matter, because we already got him so we can only pray he adapts.

Transfer fee's are not the problem for City, it's wages.

How we perform defensively from now to January will determine if there will be an interst from us. IF there is an interst - I´m far from sure we will be able to get him anyway.

Of course they are. Mancini even admitted they signed Hargreaves because splashing out on De Rossi or the like would have pushed the FFP too far.

Anyway who cares. Its not the likes of Cahill we need now. We got Mertesacker and our centre half options look very good now. Time to forget about mediocre signings to shore up the squad. We need real top quality now, not Cahill.
