Well after all the fuss in the summer caught a few game of him for Wolfsburg and while he looks a handy player he didn't really stand out to me though. A few games obviously isn't enough to judge a player though.

He has come out and said he needs to play and some journalists commented that he is wary of losing his World cup place if he left for abroad and didn't get games or settle in quickly. He has a lot of competition for that spot.
He has a buyout clause in his contract so I don't think his intention was to stay there for very long, he stated this recently and said Barca might be interested in him. Think they are looking for backup for Busquets as Song nor Mascherano suit that role for them.
