Tracking winter window rumours/lies
Telegraph saying the same. Bender I can see maybe to replace Arteta but wouldn't Gundogan replace Ramsay or Wilshere? While he is better right now I can't see Wenger dropping of getting rid of either
The suggestion that either Reus or Gundogan would cost £20mill in the telegraph is also wrong, no way would they let them go so easily
Gundogan has one year left on his contract next summer.
We don't need a Gundogan. I keep saying that because I can't really understand how people keep wishlisting him.
If we were to get Schneiderlin and Rooney, they would count as association home grown, plus are premiership ready. Add Reus for a bit of spice and that's quality business.
Switch Schneiderlin for Bender/Khedira and I am on board.
That would defeat the purpose..
Telegraph has linked us to reus today too

they requested scouting reports? i'll sum it up:
gundogan and reus are awesome, stfu and sign them. bender too.

gundogan is brilliant. if he's available and interested in joining us, we'd be nuts not to sign him.

I thought he had signed an extension, I don't think they'll let his contract run if a foreign club came in for him. Gonna be a lot of demand for him though.
Do you think Wenger would drop Ramsay/Wilshere for him?

Ramsey is brilliant at the moment, but Gundogan is a better player currently. How can you not want him?

Like the idea of Schneiderlin. We were linked with an unknown Southampton player in the final hours of the transfer window. I wonder if it was him.
Don't want us to buy anyone Dortmund. Got a soft spot for them. Hope Gundogan signs a new contract as well.

We were linked to him prior to Southampton signing him, so I wouldn't be surprised if we are still following him.
Doesnt Reus have a buyout clause that goes active next summer?
Think so.
I thought the clause was active in January.
Something tells me we wont be the only club in for him then.
Glad we didn't get Ba. He'd be a blocker
Would of been alright on a loan deal, should be aiming higher if looking for a more permanent solution.

I think we are favorite to get him if we try. He defiantly wont go to Bayern, Manure can't outbid us I can't believe I just type that, Chelsea is stack and Man City already bought players in his position. Plus he has always been an Arsenal fan.
I think we have blown our load. Can't see any big signings for some time with us saving a part of transfer budget for CL contingency.

You're defo a glass half empty kind of fella.
No, I just think 40 million players are out of our budget for the time being. That said, we don't need one to be challengers, just a couple of decent signings to provide depth. Basically, we will be where we were in 2007-11 if Ozil works out.
You're a glass has got dregs in it fella
We've spent around £35m net this summer. With club revenues due to go beyond £300m from next year and cash reserves still probably north of £130-140m. There's plenty left in the tank for big signings, it's just a question of finding the right players and having the will to make them happen. Same as ever basically.
Plenty of money left in the bank, new sponsorship deals coming into play, and we're saving significant amounts of cash after having removed the vast majority of our deadwood from our wage bill.
Bundesliga targets for me would be
- Lewandowski
- Reus
- Muller (can dream, can't we)
Lewandowski can sign with us for free in January. We should go hard after him these next three months. If that fails, activate the Reus buyout. These two players represent the best value in Euripean footy
Lewandowski is 100% Bayern bound I reckon. It's the only reason he's still at Dortmund, if he were open to other options they'd have been a host of clubs lined up for his signature this summer. We could potentially look at Mandzukic who he'll likely replace though.
World Class strikers are such a rare commodity at the moment, we had one and let him go for pennies. A decision that even after the signing of Ozil is hard to swallow.
There'll be a new sensation come January
And probably summer too. Someone always makes a name for themselves at the world cup.
what do people think of the established option like Suarez vs going long on someone like Draxler. i like the latter's size and skill. he could be the second coming of Ibra if coached properly.
Going for Suarez would help enhance our rep as a big dawg, but I'd rather go for draxler
Signing a top striker just got so much easier after we added Özil. No one can question our ambition, right now at least, and the prospect for any striker to be fed by Özil and Cazorla must be very exciting.
Draxler's potential is scary and as such I'd be over the moon if we went in for him.
draxler could be developed into an amazing forward
Heard that suggested before. Similar to Reus, i like the idea of a forward who is capable in one or two other positions. Draxler actually seems a better fit to adapt to the role so i wonder how he would do there.

Players with size, strength, pace, and technique, are incredibly rare.
Think I'd prefer Suarez though tbh, but I'd still be ecstatic if we got Draxler instead.
