Proper snake. I remember suggesting as much when people went on about how he was Arsenal through and through. The less said about him nowadays the better. It will be absolutely brilliant if we pick up a league title without him though. I hope someone really rubs it in his face in that case.

People get carried away by the players and become fanboys. If it's not Flamini then it's Fabregas. If it's not Fabregas then it's RVP. It's why people get so upset when the player eventually leaves.

Just support the club.

What's the deal with suppressing all emotional attachment to players?

I don't think there's anything wrong with fandom. Henry left too but no one harbors any ill feelings towards him. The difference is that Henry (and Fabregas too, to some extent) had achieved his status by showing up on the pitch for several seasons. van Persie did it just by tagging along for seven years, happy to pick up wages when no one else wanted him while Wenger showed remarkable patience with his talent, and when he finally had an injury free run he refused to extend his contract.

If Arseblog is to be believed then that isn't true, more what the club had been feeding the media to get fans off their back. Wenger has always spoken warmly of him after he left, hasn't given the likes of Van Persie, Nasri, Adebayor or any others who left any type of attention.
