Still absolutely buzzing. It's amazing what a big signing like this can do to the whole mood around the club. Even though the squad still looks short in a few areas and our biggest needs don't seem to have been addressed, it's still a similar feeling to winning a major trophy. What can i say, chuffed with this. I hope its the start of competing properly now although the fact that we didn't strengthen the defence or up front means i'm still a little sceptical that we've mastered this whole transfer window thing.

it’s now emerged, via Sky’s Revista de La Liga bar and Graham Hunter, that Ozil and his father were holding out for Man United, their preferred choice….but the phantom bid never materialised.

You can only lose so many key players before you enter a nasty transition period. Next summer Hummels and Lewandowski will leave, Sahin's loan will expire and he'll return to Real (which is when we should step in with a £20 million bid), and after that they are in a bit of a state.

I still think he's a bigger talent than Gündogan. This will probably be the season where he gets back to his real level.

sahin's a very good player. who's to say dortmund won't just buy him when the loan expires? he's prob surplus to requirements at madrid.

as for losing key players, we've literally turned over our entire starting eleven like 3 times in 8 yrs. dortmund can't keep this up forever, but they have been buying well.
