There are valid concerns about whether Balotelli will make the most of his career or not but you can say the same thing about Suarez. Historically the safe money is on him biting someone again before the season is over and getting a lengthy suspension. Or racially abusing someone. He's notorious for letting his team down when they need him the most. That's why he's entering his peak years at a midtable Premier League club.

Talent wise they're not comparable in my opinion. Balotelli is a pure freak of nature.

Giroud's angle was far worse to be fair, a reverse pass to Özil may have resulted in an open net, but Skrtel may have blocked as well.

Generally I agree with you though, and Suarez definitely should have taken it on himself. Can't believe he missed that to be fair, pretty simple finish.

Agree with Tim, would take Suarez ahead of Balotelli no question. Mario still has work to do to reach the top. He could turn into something special but you can never be sure with a guy like him. Suarez has his flaws too but he'd be a much "safer" signing imo.

Balotelli isn't serious enough to become one of the best. He's a man child, by the time he grows up he'll have retired.

I like how Javier Zanetti, at the tender age of 40, made a comeback today after rupturing his achilles back in april. Still looked half a yard quicker than most players on the field too. It took him about five minutes to create a second goal for Inter to seal the win. Class player. His muscles are probably made of mithril or something. Makes you wonder how much longer he'll keep on trucking.

Zanetti has been class for two decades. Very likeable character as well, and you have to appreciate that he has remained a one club man his whole career, basically.

Apparently I should have watched Napoli-Juve. Sounded like a great game with another two beautiful goals from Pogba and Pirlo.

Rossi's second against Sampdoria was a beauty too. He's every bit as good as he was before his double knee injury. Intriguing.

I think Rossi will be difficult. Fiorentina have invested a lot of time in him by now. They signed him when he was almost a year away from making a comeback. It's clear they see a lot of potential in him and Rossi probably wants to pay them back for having faith in him. Don't think he's too keen on England after his experience at United either.

Speaking of Sassuolo, I find them pretty entertaining. I hope they will avoid relegation. There's just something about them. That terrible defence might be their undoing though.

Only saw them get a hammering v Inter tbh but they've got some decent results since. Main reason for my confidence is that Roma have had a crazy good start and yet Juve are one point off. They're just a machine.

They have a superb squad too, whereas Romas's initial success is due to a few outstanding players and a great coach.

it's not unheard of for a team to invest a lot of time in an injury-riddled striker and then sell him to a big club once he returns and has one good season for them.

No, you're right. I've read a lot of in-depth stuff about Rossi over the last few months though, and he doesn't seem like the type who would jump at the chance. The return to Italy was a bit like a homecoming. The club has helped him with everything since his father died a while back too. I think he feels that he owes them a lot. He has missed out on the last two big summer tournaments too. All he has to do right now is to stay in Serie A and and he's bound to start for Italy in the World Cup. It was one of his father's dreams to see him do that, by the way. He's spoken at length about how it tore him apart when the old man died shortly after Rossi ruptured his knee ligament and missed out on the Euros.
