Cesc's lob was so clinical. I wish Özil had that. I'm not sure Özil will be as good for us as Fabregas was. I'll always have some hope that he will come back one day. Could be used as a CM.

Fabregas only had two class seasons for us. No question Özil will surpass that IMO.

Yeah, in the way that he will be great for us for a longer period of time, he will. But I doubt that any of his seasons will be as good as Fabregas' best.

he's a very composed finisher, just picks his spot and technique. reminds me of freddie actually.

i'd agree with this. but then, i've always rated cesc higher, even now.

I think people forget how good Fabregas was tbh, I mean, for example, there have been some suggesting Ramsey has reached a level comparable to Fabregas' best here. I like Ramsey but just no.

Before he started playing a more advanced role he was just unplayable at times and at such a young age. I've not really seen anything like that.

Still can't understand why he didn't leave Fabregas in CM and put Arshavin behind the striker.

Positional discipline probably, at Barca initially he struggled mainly down to him not really being disciplined enough in that area. I think as he got older he tried to be involved too much and couldn't curb those instincts, he was doing well for us at the other end of the pitch so I think maybe that is why we didn't try to reign him back.

Yeah, Barcelona really put on a show. However, this is a clear example of the difference between La Liga and the PL; when a top team faces a bottom team there, it is often a route. In the PL a bottom team will more often than not give the big boys a fight.
The defending from Rayo was appalling. Every time the ball was on one flank they were completely open down the other. You would have thought they had learned something after Barcelona scored 2 that way, but sadly no.

Bilbao unexpectedly losing at home too. They probably deserved a draw, but they were quite disappointing.

Rayo defend like that against everyone though. Barca's extra quality made the scoreline seem worse.

Love seeing teams like Madrid who can be patient with their academy. When a kid comes through it they'll generally be great from the get go
