Yeah, Ronaldo is in there as a 'forward' anyway. Cavani is also getting bit of a raw deal at PSG by playing wide most of the time - so is definately ahead of Costa. Agüero surely ahead aswell.

When you see how unhappy Jose is with his strikers its obvious nobody was available in the winter.
Unfortunately it looks like Chelsea will be going for 2 new strikers in the summer.
We always say get deals done quick, and buying 2nd tier players like Podi and players spurs buy that's easy. But no club is going to rush a sale of a top player like the Bale saga any big player on the move will be a drawn out saga to squeeze every penny out of the deal.

Hopefully we win one or two of these negotiations.

Speedy, I'm looking for a house right now. It has to be the same with players. I can throw in some cheeky bids and the owner will go off and try to look for other offers. Or I can throw in a bid so mind-numbingly good that he'll just had over the house. If we really want a player, we need to numb minds

I doubt they will let him go, think their owner confirmed that as well a couple days ago.

Would be an immense player, hard working, good movement and a real warrior in the final third. Someone like Suarez has that bit of genius about his play and can create something out of nothing whereas Cavani is more the ultimate team player and someone who will give his all in attack and defence for the team.

Not much is made of how he fucked up when it came to the transfer window and buying a striker yet we are universally panned. At least we made a £40m bid for the striker we wanted, they offered something like £20m for Rooney and waited around for him to force a move.

Jazz, it's a reputational thing. This is Mourinho's first season in 10 without a striker.
We've gone two years without a striker and sold the one decent post-invincibles striker we had. We can pan Mourinho if he messes up for another season.

That said, Mourinho's problem is less about buying a striker and more about making the most of the ones he has. All should have at least 50% more goals than they have scored at present

It is just plain wrong to say that Moron this season doesn't have a striker though. He has them! He has just shown he doesn't have a clue how to use them.
Lukaku was banging them in regularly last season - Moron sends him on loan
Ba was banging them in at a very good PL rate at Newcastle - Moron doesn't play him
He brought in Etoo - proved to be well past it, mostly
Torres - well...
On top of that he bought Schurrle who can certainly do a job there if you are looking for a different type of player compared to Ba or Lukaku.

The truth is that this fool has an embarrassment of riches for that striker position! What he is essentially saying is that when he doesn't have players like Drogba, Milito, Etoo, Ibrahimovic, Benzema, Higuain, Ronaldo at the peak of their powers - then he doesn't have a striker.

Compare what Chelsea has to us - Giroud who is in his second season on the back of a merely acceptable first season with 12 goals, Bendtner, and Sanogo. Now, there is a problem! There you could make a case for a manager whinging about not having a striker!

Sounds like you're making excuses for Mourinho there. He has Torres, Ba & Eto'o in his squad and sent Lukaku out on loan, none of them are world class strikers but a hell of a lot better in terms of options than us. Their pursuit of Rooney was as bad as ours for Suarez if not worse. Like Wenger he didn't buy a striker in January yet we were universally panned by pundits and fans (incl our own) for not buying a striker. They've also had far less injuries than us this season.

Mourinho won't mess up another transfer window because he'll have £50m+ to spend again. So should we so lets hope Wenger doesn't fuck up again. You're right Wenger has had two years without a top striker, two years out of about 18 years....
