Messi needs to move clubs, to get more fans, and for a change in general, he will become stale quickly if he stays at Barca for the rest of his career. Rarely do great attacking players stick to one club when they aren't a national.

To get out of his comfort zone surely.

Maradona did it. Zizou did it as well. Hell even Bale did it.

If your a true great in any field whether it be sports, finance or whatever you need to be constantly challenged.

Messi has no evolutionary pressure put on him and as a result there is no other direction for him to go other than sideways and become stale.

He's playing at Barça as their false nine. He's integral to their success. If he plays badly he'd be ridiculed and ushered away just like Ronaldinho. Where would he get a new challenge? He's already at the top. When the Decline starts is when he could be sold. Now, unless he goes on strike or something, it wouldn't happen.

in one breath, you say he might fail if he comes to england, then in the next you ask where he can find a challenge. you answer your own question. he has nothing left to prove in spain - he can rest on his laurels and possibly stagnate, or he could choose a new adventure. the fact he could fail is the point - that's why you try.
