We can't go through a season with just one quality striker though. With the kind of effort Alexis put in tonight, he'll be spent by October if he's our only legitimate option up front.

Sanogo lacks quality at the moment but he gives Wenger the tactical flexibility he wants. We won't be out of the title race by the time Giroud comes back.

Alexis will be spent if he's fighting against two center halves twice a week. We need another center forward.

I guess, he just hasn't really played up there very often and doesn't have the complete center forward skillset. It just doesn't feel like enough to win the title playing the way we play.

Sanchez and Walcott playing off each other could be ridiculous. Not sure if for better, or for worse...

would take a major adjustment from the rest of our midfielders. no-one seems to bother playing balls in behind. a few times ozil had a killer pass on for alexis and it seemed like he thought giroud was still up front, didn't even bother spotting the run. theo is useless with balls played to feet, alexis isn't and can also make runs behind, which why i'd prefer alexis in the middle

Correct me if I'm remembering wrong but Theo looked extremely dangerous when we played him at CF for that short period of time. Just before he signed da ting. Scored quite a few goals playing there.

Where's the height going to come from though? We would need to stop crossing entirely if we play that combo.

Thankfully from what we have seen Debuchy and Monreal is capable of cutting back rather than crossing.

Wenger said Kos should be fine in a week but Ozil? Looked in pain but then seemed ok for the last 10 minutes.

He doesn't like contact but nor did Pires. In light of him pulling out, he did show courage to not leave the team with 10 men and gave us a chance.
