Alexis certainly is capable of deciding close games on his own, and he has already done it on a number of occasions for us. Özil on the other hand is more dependent on others.

Agreed, but IMO that is not his primary role at the club - that he has done so is a bonus rather than an expectation.
IMO he is more akin to a Pires than either a TH or RVP, whilst Ozil is more DB10.

He is a striker, his 'job' is to score goals, goals decide games. Of course it is his job to decide games.

Ozil is DB?

Give me a break, Bergkamp could dictate a game and give out a load of shit. Ozil is reliant on it being in his comfort zone for him to perform and for me that is not a guy you want to base yourself around.

Ozil is technically at the top of the game, but his physical and mental liabilities have been exposed in this league as a key player.

So again he carried us, but his passing is really off. What's that about? You can see a number f players frustrated by it (Giroud) and others left out (Welbexk)?

Wenger on Debuchy

"He has a dislocated shoulder. It is difficult (to say how long he will be out) - you need a diagnosis from a specialist.
"We don't know yet, but he will certainly not play next week. Kieran Gibbs still has an inflamed ankle.
"Monreal and Debuchy can play centre-back, but if Gibbs is not here Monreal cannot play centre-back and if Debuchy is not here he cannot play centre-back. This is a position where we are short."
Wenger also admitted Debuchy's injury is likely to change his transfer plans for the month ahead.

Poor guy, that's some serious pain.

That's a rollercoaster shot

Anyways get fit soon matty

This really ought to convince wengs to get defensive reinforcements if he was in any doubt

Feel bad for him, after spending so long out to get another bad injury. Wenger should have come out and called those fucking wankers out, that twat who pushed him is what caused his injury.

"Monreal and Debuchy can play centre-back, but if Gibbs is not here Monreal cannot play centre-back and if Debuchy is not here he cannot play centre-back. This is a position where we are short."

To sum it up, we're short on both fullbacks and centrebacks because we didn't make proper defensive signings in the last 4-5 windows. Who could ever have seen this happen?

Seems to be ahead of Chambers in the pecking order for right back and rightly so

Chambers needs time out

To be fair Debuchy has never been an injury prone player. Weird season he's having.

He's not injury prone this season either. Suffered an ankle injury and then got shoved into an advertising hoarding by an orc.

Very unlucky. I'm saddened by this, not just for him but for us as well - he's not been constantly playing very well, but he's still an important and experienced player (and he really didn't get going - probably was about to get into his stride after a proper run of games; not happening).
Hope it's not long term.

What a bummer for us and for Mat. Really like the guy and two absurd injuries to suffer so far in such a short period of time. Very unlucky.

All the best to Debuchy, but we'll probably be better off without him anyway. The injury will just force Wenger's hand a bit and make him blood in Bellerin a year earlier.

bellerin getting these minutes will help us big time next season

debuchy's injury record was decent up to now wasn't it?

Both injuries were freak occurrences, neither speaks to his ability to stay fit.

Or he'll play Chambers on the right and weaken us overall

Bellerin had to get used to first team training which is a massive step up. And then get used to first team games. He wouldn't have lasted a month if we played him from debuchys first injury.

If he plays against City that will tell us a lot about him. Even 2-3 months ago i don't think he could have handled that sort of game. Might not be able to even now.
