Yep, I would rather we sell him than Pires. He was terrible during that period.
Then again, Pires did his knee like a week after signing for Villarreal and was out for over a year, and he didn't exactly set the world alight when he made his comeback. Also, we didn't sell him. He left on a free.
He was sensational when he came back he ran villareal up the table dominating teams almost single handedly. He pulled off my favourite bit of pires skill that year.
Ljungbergs hip was gone think he had a partial replacement he was never going to recover from that and be the same player. West ham played him 3m to tear up the contract in the end. Same / very simular to Keane he was finished after the hip injury. That's why he wasn't worth taking shit from anymore. Manu were happy to tear up that contract. He done nothing at Celtic or after.
