There has been a lot of discussion about Wilshere's level too and I think people forget the potential in the lad. He like Ramsey has missed a lot of football. There is no reason why like Ramsey he can't get back to his best and fulfill that potential. I hope he can do that quickly as in Ramsey and Wilshere we have 2 incredible midfielders who can serve us for years.

Some conclusions from the game:

Giroud definitely seems to have improved. He is no world beater, still, and a top quality striker is what we really need the most. But, Giroud can get to 15+ league goals this season from his 10 last year.
Ramsey is awesome.
Koscielny is awesome.
We have a good midfield which has very good understanding with each other - but, we're average in the final third. The number of passes City could string together in our box was crazy and we need players with good technical ability up the field in order to do the same.
Zel boy is a great talent but needs to improve a lot before he can make meaningful contributions against Premiership standard teams. His shielding and turning the ball thing is a good trick but it doesn't work against top quality adult midfielders.
Perez fella has a good long ball, but, whoever comes in as the third central midfielder might have a big role to play for the team. I'm not sure he's ready for that - some of those full length sliding tackles were amateurish.
We are one world class striker away from having an immense first XI.

Negredo looked quite good to me - strong, pacy and has good technique. We can really do with a player of his caliber. Dzeko was pale in comparison.

I have said all along that I think we already in the squad have the quality go keep our season going for the first 10 games or so. Our best XI looks decent. However, we are threadbare in some positions. We need a CB/RB depending on how Wengie wants to roll. We also desperately need another quality CM. No one can do, and better, what Arteta does, and this Perez guy looks a squad player at best. We also need something in the attack. If we can't get a top class forward, then we need a top class wide man or number 10. All in my humble opinion.

I know it's early days but Perez did look promising. Wenger must rate him too since he allowed him around 25 minutes on the pitch. Looks disciplined, technically sound and good short passing so surely he'll be signed up as a Coquelin replacement.

On a negative note Santi looked flat again today so he's going to have to get up to speed in the forthcoming week since we're going to need him in top shape.
