Less bothered than most.

contrary to yesterday, I didn't learn anything new from this game (nothing important) - in fact it was rather expected. That we have to sign - we really didn't need to see this for that.

Iggy Miquel - please. A whole preseason of watching this. he is not even near being a player, and he's not even that young.

Exaggerations on OX all around. Still think he'll have a massive year, still playing and trying everywhere. Just wish he didn't need to.

Jenkinson actually surprised me positively today.

Not much else. couldn't really care less about winning it (nor did we deserve to with that second half attitude).

Honestly found seeing Zelalem the most exciting thing of the whole Emirates Cup. He's the most talented player we have.

Gnabry looked decent as well, cazorla plays much better centrally.

I won't term him a dedicated defensive midfielder but he did along with Ramsey recongnize our shortcomings (probably his shortcomings too) to compensate and play like one in the last third of the season.

Goals and chances created are weak as hell and frankly our prep the last few years has looked at best poor and at worst a shambles, we will start the season poorly again it seems and with the stupid window only really getting anything done between the 14th and 31st of Aug its a total waste that we don't need.

Not happy with how we are shaping up so far.

Also lovely to see a team whose fans stabbed up ours enjoying a day out winning something (pointless though it is) at our place, utter disgrace from a club that forgot anything happened before 2006 it seems.

I thought the youth project (in it's purest form - replacing first team experienced players with youth) was pretty much abandoned when we sold Cesc?
Since then the players we've drafted into the first team bar Jenkinson and Chamberlain have all been experienced and brought from outside the club - Per, Arteta, Santi, Monreal, Podolski, Giroud.
If anything Wenger seems set against putting pressure and responsibility on the inexperienced young players these days.

yeah that mantle has been taken over by sections of the fan community, "when is Coq coming on", "I want to see Ganrby", I hope Eisfeld gets some minutes etc etc etc blah blah blah

Doesn't matter that some of us do say that though (me, Eisfeld 🙂) as it's not exactly going to influence matters.
It's a reaction to the team on the pitch and their performances, a request for change in the most apparently available form.
Involves pretty much the same thought process as demanding new signings or a new manager but recognises that in February (seems to occur mostly post Christmas) at Arsenal neither of the other 2 options are realistic.

Was at the games on sunday. Still haven't gotten over how depressingly awful we were. Galatasaray, Drogba and their thousands of fans at the Emirates were all fucking annoying as well.

Missed Napoli so my thoughts are only half filled out but -
On the plus side we've got Ramsey, Zelalem, Sagna as an option at centre back and... and... I'm stuck. It was such a dreadful performance my optimism for the season is completely gone. A superstar forward is so obviously needed and everyone knows it. I'm just hoping there's a plan B (and C and D) is Suarez doesn't work out. If we don't sign the mythical star attacker and Cazorla are Wilshere take a while to get going this season we'll be absolutely screwed. Also a lot more worried about Arteta than I had been. He's been getting slowly worse (and playing deeper and deeper) for a while now.
