I think Tone just expected other things than coaching youth at Arsenal. I'm sure he would have been given a job right away if he'd asked, but I got the feeling that he wanted too much and too soon. He tried to take over a PL team early on and it didn't work, and then he tried his luck abroad which didn't result in much either. And then he started to sulk in the papers about it. He didn't strike me as someone who had the patience or the will to do the work on a day-to-day basis the way someone like Steve Bould has for 15 years now.
