Youngster Robbie Burton seems to be on his way to Dinamo Zagreb on a permanent transfer.

I have no idea about what position he plays or if we should have tried harder to hold on to him.

Maybe somebody who watches our reserves regularly can shine some light.

Read quite abit about him recently and have high hopes for our academy again our him. He was right about us lacking in quality in many age groups as compared to other clubs. Time to beef up recruitment in that area with so many new scouts

Bukayo Saka is the best example of where we want to go with Arsenal. He was a winger, but because he is not a Leroy Sané in small spaces, he will not get beyond top 30 best wingers. As a wingback, he can become top 3 in the world.. [& he can develop defensively w/good coaching."

That has been my exact thoughts on Saka since I first noticed him 2 years or so back. The more I read, the more I agree with this man.

My exact thinking as well. Hundred percent agree with this. As a fullback this guy is going to own the world. I'm sure Klopp can see that this guy will be an upgrade on Robertson and the noise we hear around Liverpool is real. He will be in the England Euro 2020 team. Such a special talent at fullback

LB role is where he will excel. His forward instincts are better than Cole and you can see how much of the ball he gets when he is in the team. Think he would be hard pressed to get that level of trust elsewhere if he moves this summer. Does complicate things for Tierney, but having both on the flank could be a really potent left side.

4 assists as a winger and 6 as a wingback/fullback. He gets it done wherever you put him.
I just love how he has seized his opportunity. It feels like forever but it’s only 2 months that he has been playing at the fullback role and he has established himself as a fan favorite there. Klaus pointed to his no nonsense attitude of getting up immediately after he was tackled by Sidibe. He has similarly just gotten on with his new assignment. No loud protestations about how he should be a winger. Shows you how short-sighted players like AMN are. Fullback can be a glory position if you just put your head down (and have the talent)

Saka isn’t a LB, most certainly a winger, him and Pepe should get a run.

I would rather he get time as a WF still as it allows him to develop his attacking skillset more even if I think his future is at LB. His crossing is impressive, but would like him to become more comfortable as a goal threat.

The two questions I'd ask in return would be "Has he ever played there?" and "do we have Salah and Mane?".

Those are the wrong questions. It’s how you end up in trouble, and with the Aubameyang on the left situation. We have a player who has the energy to cover the entire flank. He comes from deep to take on and blow past players. Overlaps well. He does all the things you’d want of a fullback. He doesn’t quite have the elite small space capability of a wide forward like Pépé. It’s why Pépé is great where he is and not further back. (It also what makes me keep asking whether we are playing Nelson in the right place in this formation).

I’m with Claud. At least for now. When Tierney is fully fit then it may be a better use of resources to move him to the wing and see what he can do there. It’s only fair given it’s where he wants to play. But he’s so good and effective as a full back it’s hard not to want to keep him there.
