Good interview. He speaks like a mature and intelligent young man (or rather, his words read that way).
That said, whilst I like that he is both impressed and, it would seem, inspired by Arteta the man, coach and his work with Sané and Sterling and generally at City, I don't like the way he views his progression. This part in particular:
I have all my belief in Mikel and I think he is going to make me into a top player.”
I hope this is just poorly worded because Arteta will do no such thing, Reiss. You, with lots of hard work, will do it yourself, merely guided by Arteta and his coaches. It's not much to go on but it builds on an impression I have from Nelson's previous interviews and things said about him by a couple team mates and Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim; that he takes it easy and isn't serious or focused in training. I'm glad he's excited by a coach with a track record of developing players, but I suspect the biggest improvement Arteta can help bring out of him will be an aggressive, focused and competitive attitude, and really working hard to improve. Like a lot of players at Arsenal, I think he's had it a bit too easy: ability, in his case, is certainly not lacking.
