Saw some of his pre-season highlights on YouTube and he looked pretty good to be fair, reminded me of a young RvP.

Because if a 17 year old Greenwood is considered ok to be a squad player for Utd then I was thinking of the same about John Jules/Balogun for us when they are all roughly the same age....

It will be interesting if the latter get game time in group stages of the Europa league for example.

I think comparing a Greenwood to a young Zelalem is a little disingenuous. Zelalem looked good in pre-season but no one expected him to play any sort of role for us in the upcoming season. Greenwood is United's second choice striker this season and will be playing a similar role to the likes to John Jules/Martinelli in the coming season for us so it's a valid question wondering how they compare to one another.

Not really. When Rashford doesn't start there it's more likely to be Martial than Greenwood.

Greenwood is their next big star according to the United fans. Already playing in a big match for the last 5mins so definitely no Zelalem, at worse Macheda.

We have an u23 league game versus Blackburn tonight at 7pm London. Are these usually broadcast somewhere?

Not unless Blackburn have a TV channel and are broadcasting the match.

There have been whispers that an Arsenal TV channel is in the pipeline. Whicn would mean you could watch all U23 matches.

Holding is playing in the Blackburn U23 match. Means he's not that far off fitness wise.

Aside from Holding, Smith-Rowe also made his comeback tonight which is good to see. Wonder if we might keep him this season in light for Iwobi being sold.

Balogun scored another hat trick tonight, though two of those were pens.

What’s the odds of Nelson, Saka, ESR and Martinelli all NOT going on loan at least till Jan?

I don't think we'll see a loan for Nelson or Martinelli. Nelson is getting minutes, and we'll want Martinelli to become adopted to life at the club (helped by Luiz and co.)

ESR has links (offers I'd assume) to Germany. Saka may find it harder as the window has closed in England, so no more loans unless you go abroad. Not sure he's up for that or rated that highly (yet!).

I'd imagine only ESR heads out.

ESR was linked to a number of German teams. He was mentioned as a makeweight for the Upamecano deal. Werder and Wolfsburg were also mentioned as potential destinations.
Werder would be an interesting choice. A good coach who rescued them from relegation zone. They've just lost a good striker Kruse who also provided a lot of their assists, so there is a creativity gap. And ESR is probably good enough to get in ahead of some of their attacking mids.

Not sure I totally understand that statement but i’ll take it as a somewhat positive.
