Chamberlain's problem was the way the knee injuries did him in, not his talent. Bit like Gnabry actually who was being fast tracked into the first team and given plenty of playing time at eighteen. He was easily one of Wenger's favourite players and then he did his ACL and struggled to come back. Shit happens.
Campbell was just nonsense, and he's still nonsense today. Nothing player with the lungs of a chemo patient. If anyone in a good league ever gets anything out of him I'll buy a hat and eat it.
Ox was a talented track and field athlete. The term football brain or lack thereof should have been coined for him not Walcott who actually was smart in recognising when to go for a through ball. Gnabry tore his ACL but so did Ox, the amount of chances they got is not even remotely comparable. Theres also the fact that Gnabry always looked more natural on the ball.
Campbell came from the Costa Rican league, players from European top leagues struggle with the pace in England it's not exactly surprising that he had issues with it. What's a lot more important than immediately being able to run for 90 minutes is natural ability, understanding of the game etc pp and Joel had it in spades. During the short time Wenger gave him he was our most creative player after Özil, easier to train someone with that kind of left foot to be able to run for longer than implanting a brain into the likes of Lee Cattermole or Ox
