Szczesny is an excellent goal keeper. Goal keeper is well covered with him, Ospina and Martinez. With every other area of the team in desperate need of upgrades it would be a complete waste of time and money trying to "upgrade" on Szczesny.

well i don't know his history, but this is the same injury he suffered at the world cup. one injury doesn't make you injury prone.

No way is Szczesny an excellent goal keeper. He might be but right now he is average as hell.

Our goalkeeper setup is similar to our striker setup. We have three flawed, above average players instead of one who's world class and two decent backups.

We haven't missed him a single bit with Martinez in goal for 3 matches.

He's not our biggest problem though, not been as good as he could have been but we have more urgent matters. Not many keepers better that we can realistically upgrade him with.

I fail to see what your list is supposed to do I must admit, and I certainly disagree on a number of comparisons. Saying Flamini=Denilson is a bit harsh...

Personally gone off Szczesny and Wilshere this season. Cant see it with them and dont want them to be starters for us unless they drastically improve their game.

Wilshere is a very talented player, but he needs a proper coach that will tell him when and where to position himself and pass the ball. Not a manager like Wenger who gives the players far too much freedom on the pitch. I am sure that Wilshere would have been brilliant for instance in Pep's Bayern Munich.

No just this season, for me.
As a teenager, i thought Szczesny was the second coming of Schmeichel.
Not saying he is poor but i cannot see him being anywhere near as dominating.
As for Jack, it has been his inability to stay fit that have ruined any world class pretensions(?) i had for him.

I think the majority of our young players have failed to show a level that says world class outside of Ramsey last season.

We over rate the majority on the basis of Cesc, in reality he was the 1/100 and we haven't and won't see the likes of again.

Wilshere - Over-rated big time, particularly in the deeper roles

Ox - Aaron Lennon with bulk

Woj - Failed to press on but has moments and is youngish, but not going Courtois level at any point

Walcott - Far too injured to make anything go his way as a top player

The reality is that AW can not develop a player from academy levels, but can 'finish' players who already have both the required technical ability AND an understanding of the game and their role.
IMO EVERY player AW has looked to develop as a youth has stalled once they've become a part of the match day squad.
The only exception has been Fabregas, simply because his development at La Masia enabled him to understand the mental aspect of the game that AW tries to install via playing time.

By the way i love Debuchy so far for us. He looks very solid mentally and looks a fighter. Has a very cynical approach to what he does. Wish we would have more like him.
