Wouldn't count anyone who came straight in and trained with the first team more or less from day one as a genuine academy product.

Walcott appeared for us in the PL within six months of coming to Arsenal I think ...

On the other hand there's plenty of guys playing for other clubs who are real Arsenal academy products, so.

I liked that lad. Should have had a few more chances in the first team probably but I suppose there was little point in keeping him with all the emerging talent.

Ramsey has amazing powers of recovery. Comes top in all the physical tests at #AFC. Fittest player in the squad.

Brentford seems below Yennaris's level. He played for us in proper games and didn't look out of place. Maybe that was just Wenger using him well?

Wenger confirms that at half time vs Southampton he instructed the team to play higher up in basically a 442, with Özil off Giroud.

Any chance that was more than just a one off tactical adjustment? Maybe that's the future of our game? Özil up front with a new striker, say, Draxler? Wilshere playing the 'Silva/Nasri role'. Ramsey as Yaya, someone like Schneiderlin as Fernandinho.

God I hope not Volly, I'd love to see a return to a 4-4-2 but that means we'd need some serious steel in midfield and Ozil who can't score in a brothel with a fistful of $50 notes would be pushed out wide.

I'm excited to see Chambo start getting a bit more involved. Think he can have a big influence in this second part of the season.

Yep hopefully he can get to full fitness. He can make things happen and adds energy to our game. I'd lie to see him on the left of the front three and play like he did when he first arrived. Man U game at home when he yoinked off style

Is that why we continued to be overrun in the 2nd half?
442 is an system best for teams with traditional wingers of which we have none.
Anyways we got away with a draw so that's a positive.

We didn't get overrun in the second half. Just a couple of mistakes from a couple of players on their goal and Flamini's usual idiocy.

It's my superiority complex kicking in. Southampton should not be able to match us, let alone look like the better team. My brain registers that as overrun especially as i noted a lot more than a couple of mistakes from a couple of players.
Edit: As a Yank, i would have thought you were more Canadian than Brazilian.
