Negligence really is the only word for it. You could almost understand if this was March and we were still in the CL and the cups and had games every 3 days plus internationals etc and the squad was wearing thin. But to start the season in a position where we have virtually run out of players after the first game? How can there be any excuse. If things got ugle yesterday, imagine how they will be at the Spurs game in a couple of weeks.
I said it somewherew else but it almost feels like some of the social teams I've played in over the last few years, we've probably all played in them, where you have loads of guys keen in pre-season and 18 turn up for the first game so that even with unlimited rolling subs a couple don't even get to play. Then after that you struggle for 11 for most of the season and never have subs and end up playing the last few games with 9 or 10, and hopefully someone brings along a friend or even a Father who can jog a bit as even if they can't play much they're at least another body on the pitch that the opposition at least have to try and run past.
It feels a bit like we're struggling for a matchday squad for Wednesday. Could get really ugly in Turkey.
