Song was a tit. Never liked his game.
He was imo one of the main reasons why we played poor football.
😆
What's so funny?

Why would you want to move the better of the two out wide? Jack can do more damage in the middle. Let the wingers fight it out for a place there.

And yet, when he wasn't playing, our football was even worse.

Because the second playmaker will play wide. Simple.
Could also do Santi RW, Jack 10, Rambo CM.

Like against Swansea away? Rather when he was playing and several other games last season.
That's how I would see it aswell Don, if we ever were to have the all math fit that is.. Santi would be the best wide playmaker.
It doesn't matter, the players aren't hamstrung by the position they stand in at kick-off. All it means is without the ball, Wilshere will drop into the second line while Cazorla will occupy the third.
And I'm sure Santi wouldn't kick up a fuss about playing wide, don't think it would affect his performances in the slightest. Might affect the team though, we'll just have to see how things evolve.

Yep, we've basically been 4411 without the ball this season, Wenger kind of using Klopp's tactics at Dortmund with Kagawa.
True Captain, we play a fluid formation but I do think that experience counts for a lot when trying to influence the game from out wide as a playmaker though... When to cut inside, when to keep shape etc..

Never liked his hair either.

Wenger used 4-4-1-1 when Klopp was still in kindergarten.
This return to 4411 off the ball seems very similar to what Dortmund have done the past few seasons though, using the 10 high up the pitch when off the ball to receive balls for counter attacks. Lucien Favre's Gladbach were quite similar with Reus as well.
We have played 4-4-1-1 pretty consistently for more than a decade mate.
What's your point?
